How Much Do You Charge?  We have a wide range of prices, and each price is specific to the type of entertainment package we will design for you. It is best to meet with us to determine if we are a good match and what package would be best to suit your needs, then we can give you an exact quote at that time.

How Much Should I Budget For My DJ?  You will hear from many vendors that you shouldn’t skimp on their services, but it couldn’t be more true in the case of Entertainment.  Considering that your DJ / MC Entertainment will bear the responsibility of over 80% of the success of your celebration, you can see why choosing a FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL DJ is the wisest choice. Your event already looks like a million bucks, so don’t cut corners on the most important element that will make your celebration an unforgettable and fun experience.  Professional rates for DJ Entertainment range from around $600 - $2,500, with the average professional rate being around $1,200.  There are unexperienced and part-time DJ's that may charge less, but when you have a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, do you reall want to take chances?

Will You Hold My Date?  In the DJ industry, our dates are our “inventory” and therefore cannot be held without a contract and retainer.  Even if you need time to decide which package suits you, simply call to request a retainer contract.  A small retainer of as low as $200 will hold your date.  The most important detail is that you secure your date with us.  Then, we can help you design a package right for you.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or check for retainer payment.

Do You Use Contracts And Are You Insured?  For peace of mind, of course we use written contracts and conduct our business professionally, however we never let the rules get in the way of good business.  We are fully insured and members of the American Disc Jockey Association.  We are very easy to work with, and our focus is on the success of your special event.

Will You Be On Time For My Event?  Yes.  In fact, we will be early.  We make all the arrangements for our arrival with your event facility, and we arrive approximately two hours early to set up.  Our equipment and microphones are then tested, tuned, and fully equalized to the room so your first guest hears perfection.

What Kind Of Music Do You Have?  And Do You Have A List?  Alaska Professional Entertainment has the best music on the planet.  At the time of this writing, we are holding over 35,000 songs in our library.  We subscribe to the industry’s best music programming services that update our library weekly.  These are the same companies that service the top radio stations in the USA.  Our music is updated so frequently that we will have all of your favorite tunes and requests.  We also have all of your favorite party classics, and tunes from every era including Big Band, Motown, Disco, New Wave 80’s, Classic Rock n’ Roll, Alternative Rock, Top 40 R n B, Urban, Hip Hop, Dance, Club Music, Techno, Old School, Funk, and even more! Can I Request A Specific DJ?  Absolutely.  If you have seen one of our DJs perform, it is in our best interest to have them perform your event.  We endeavor to provide you with the exact entertainer that you request, however due to the nature of our business, have a second choice or allow us to match you with a perfect entertainer should a particular entertainer fall ill or become unable to perform your show.  That way, you are covered in any case.

The 10 questions to ask when hiring DJ Entertainment

1. Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability?
Many responsible business owners carry liability insurance to protect their businesses and the consumer. Many locations are beginning to require proof of liability. Ask for proof of liability insurance. Disc Jockey's receive a Certificate of Liability which can be used as proof.

2. Will you be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time?
A versatile Disc Jockey is willing to listen to your suggestions, give you feedback and play from your desired song list. A professional Disc Jockey will also accept the fact you may not want certain songs played. A professional Disc Jockey cannot know everything about your musical preferences and entertainment needs without communication.

3. Do you use Professional Equipment?
Ask whether your prospective Disc Jockey works with professional audio equipment. If you are not sure, ask for their equipment list and check with a local music dealer or the A.D.J.A. to verify they are using professional-grade sound gear. Remember that professional gear does not guarantee an entertainer's talent or service level, but is simply a tool for building an exceptional event.

4. Do you provide backup equipment at my event?
Although equipment failure is rare, do you really want your special occasion ruined because your Disc Jockey did not come prepared? It is also important to know if your Disc Jockey has a back-up plan in case of illness or an accident.

5. Does the Disc Jockey know the proper etiquette for your party?
A professional Disc Jockey will assist you with the planning of your special day. A professional entertainer will coordinate, emcee and provide the music that you desire. They will should know the the traditions, rituals and protocol for your type of event. Ask if they have experience with your type of event and what that experience is.

6. How much time do you allow for set-up?
Punctuality is a necessity. Most Disc Jockey's arrive at least one hour prior to the start time you've given them. Your entertainer should ideally be setup and in-place before your first guest walks through the door.

7. Do you provide a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing. Ask for a written agreement, especially if you are paying an initial retainer. The standard initial payment for entertainment services is 50%. If you are expecting a specific entertainer, make sure you get it in writing as well.

8. Will you be suitably dressed for our occasion?
Specify the type of apparel that your Disc Jockey is expected to wear for your occasion. Formal attire or coat & tie are the most popular forms of attire. If you are having a "theme" event, make sure your entertainer is informed and better yet, uniformed!

9. Do you belong to a professional organization or trade group?
Although belonging to an organization or trade group does not guarantee the talent or professionalism of a disc jockey, it may indicate the companies willingness to network, learn and grow. Disc jockeys can learn through local chapter meetings, national DJ conventions and seminars geared toward the entertainment professional.

10. Do you provide a written guarantee?

Find out if the entertainment company you are considering provides a written guarantee. If they don't, you should be concerned about putting their money where their mouth is at your event. Any company providing entertainment with your best interest in mind, should provide a written guarantee for your happiness. If not, how can you be sure?
